About: FCA Oil Consumption Lawsuit

The class action lawsuit states certain Jeep, Ram, Dodge, and Fiat vehicles have an oil consumption defect.

When the above vehicles consume too much oil, the oil pressure in their engines (The 2.4L Tigershark) can drop to dangerous levels. This can cause the vehicle to shut down unexpectedly, which may be hazardous or fatal to the driver.

The plaintiffs in the suit claim that they weren't told about the engine problem beforehand. As a result, they had to pay for repairs themselves once their engines failed.

So far, FCA hasn't admitted to fault on their part, but they have agreed to pay out $8 million to drivers to settle these allegations against them.

The terms of the FCA settlement detail that members of the suit can obtain extended warranty benefits through the auto manufacturer's FCA Powertrain Limited Warranty. This warranty extension covers all parts and labor required to fix this FCA/Chrysler oil consumption problem.

Notice of the FCA Oil Consumption Lawsuit

If you are or were the driver of one of these vehicles you may have received a customer service notice by mail or email from Chrysler FCA. These notices would either be for CSN W20, CSN W80, or CSN W84.

All members of the class action suit covered under CSN W80 are eligible to get a free oil consumption test. FCA has agreed to replace the vehicle’s engine long block if the test indicates a significant defect.

Members who are covered under CSN W80 who have their engine long blocks replaced will also automatically receive a $340 payment from the manufacturer, and may be eligible for additional payments, as laid out by this FCA settlement.

If you are a driver and have already paid for repairs related to this Chrysler oil consumption defect, FCA can reimburse you for these repairs.
