GM Lemon Law: Class-Action Lawsuit Against GM for Excessive Oil Consumption

There has been an emerging problem in a variety of GM vehicles. The issue concerns a high level of oil consumption with some of GM’s larger vehicles. This is a serious problem that has been shown to have an effect on your car's fuel efficiency, engine performance, and the working life of your GM engine.

GM is aware of the issue, and what began as a lawsuit with GM back in 2016 to remedy it has recently been certified as a class-action lawsuit of GM owners against the auto manufacturer.

If your GM vehicle has been consuming excessive amounts of oil or has shown signs of engine performance issues or engine failure, you aren’t the only one.

Opting into this class action lawsuit to get damages, recompensation, or replacement of your vehicle may not be your only option as a GM owner and driver. You may be able to get far better damages awarded to you by pursuing your case individually with our California GM lemon law attorneys. Continue reading to learn more.

GM Lemon Lawyers: Oil Consumption Problems in GM Vehicles

In this class-action lawsuit against GM, it was alleged that there was a major safety concern involving defective piston rings. This defect is something that causes engine failure and the breakdown or wear-and-tear of GM vehicles and their motors.

The suit alleges that carbon buildup in these particular parts causes an oil consumption defect which is limited to certain models of General Motors vehicles.

See below for the full list of GM vehicles with oil consumption problems and engine failure issues, relevant to this recent class-action lawsuit.
